Just a quick note to let you know that myself, Megan and Lakshini (the team being Dementia Researcher) are taking a much needed break, and finishing for 2018 (check our podcast feed on Monday 24th for our 2018 end of year round-up). We will be back on the 2nd January, and are very much looking forward to continue to support our Early Career Researcher community.
It has been a fantastic first year, and I can hardly believe that it has already been 10 months since we launched this website back in March at the Alzheimer’s Research UK Conference. Here are a few stats that might interest you (all these stats are based on March to December 2018):
- 739 people have subscribed to the site, and 636 have fully registered
- 419 of those subscribed visit the website at least once every week, and as a whole we had over 500 visitors every week in the last month.
- The site had over 18,000 visitors and 58,000 page views.
- 41% of our visitors were aged between 25-35 (so it looks like we’re getting to the right audience for our Early Career Researchers)
- Visitors to the site come from 109 different countries, the top five are: 1. UK, 2. USA, 3. Australia, 4. India, 5. Canada
- We have published 362 blogs and articles.
- We have had 85 researchers, experts and people living with dementia contribute blogs and as panellists on our podcasts.
- We shared details about 168 events and over 120 funding opportunities
As for the podcasts….
- 28 episodes published and available from our website, SoundCloud, iTunes and Spotify
- 4,790 plays from 76 different countries.
- Over 400 regular listeners and subscribers (and growing every day – even podcasts published months ago get new listens each week, as people new to finding the website download the archive)
- 55% of listens come from iTunes
I would like to thank our partners Alzheimer’s Research UK and Alzheimer’s Society, those other sites who kindly allow us to share their content e.g. LSE Impact Blog, Thesis Whisperer, NIHR etc. and everyone who has joined the community, all those who have read our posts, listened to our podcasts and made use of the site since March. We have so much more planned for 2019, and are looking forward to support you, the fantastic Dementia Researcher community.
