SUMMARY:Co-producing Community-based Initiatives in Dementia Care
DESCRIPTION:Join the EMPOWER Dementia Network+\, the University of Worcester and Greenisland Golf Club for an afternoon on co-producing community-based initiatives in dementia research and care. \nThis free partnership event shares best practice on co-producing community-based support. It brings together people living with dementia\, family carers\, community organisations\, researchers\, practitioners and members of the public to explore how working together can help people affected by dementia to live meaningful lives. \nAt its heart is the EMPOWER-funded project Developing and implementing Meeting Centres in Northern Ireland: A Co-production Approach to Community-based Support. \nThe day will include\n\nLunch\, served at 12 noon\nPresentations and learning from the Meeting Centres project\nA table-top discussion on co-production and community-based support\nCreative activities and workshops exploring what empowerment and living meaningfully mean in the context of dementia\nCommunity stalls showcasing local initiatives supporting people affected by dementia\nTime for networking and sharing learning\n\nWho should come\nAll are welcome: researchers\, community groups\, people living with dementia and their friends\, family and carers\, health practitioners\, local businesses\, and anyone passionate about or interested in dementia care and research. \nPlaces are limited\, so register as early as you can.
