SUMMARY:NIA-AA Symposium — Enabling Precision Medicine for Alzheimer’s Disease Through Open Science
DESCRIPTION:NIA AA Symposium 2026\nEnabling Precision Medicine for Alzheimer’s Disease Through Open Science\nFriday 10 July 20268.00 am to 5.30 pm BSTInterContinental London O2 Hotel\, Peninsula West\, LondonIn person attendance only \nThe 8th Annual NIA AA Symposium will bring together researchers\, clinicians\, data scientists\, open science advocates\, and industry colleagues to explore how precision medicine and open science can advance Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias research. \nHosted as an AAIC 2026 preconference\, the symposium will feature NIA supported clinical trials and translational research programmes using precision medicine approaches to better understand disease heterogeneity\, identify new targets and biomarkers\, improve models of Alzheimer’s disease\, and support therapy development. \nAcross the day\, sessions will cover molecular subtypes and shared disease mechanisms\, environmental approaches to risk reduction and prevention\, preclinical therapy development\, clinical development\, and the creation of knowledge networks for precision medicine. \nThe programme has been jointly developed by the National Institute on Aging and the Alzheimer’s Association\, with speakers from leading institutions including NIA\, Emory University\, Rush University\, Columbia University\, University of Michigan\, The Jackson Laboratory\, University of Pittsburgh\, Harvard University\, Duke University\, University of California San Francisco\, Sage Bionetworks and the Allen Institute. \nWho should attend?\nThis event is aimed at academic\, biotech and pharmaceutical industry researchers\, clinicians\, computational biologists\, data scientists\, and others with an interest in target discovery\, biomarker discovery\, drug development\, precision medicine and open science. \nRegistration\nAAIC preconferences require separate registration. Attendees may register alongside AAIC full conference registration or as a stand alone preconference event. Registration is managed by the Alzheimer’s Association.
