SUMMARY:EDIS Symposium 2027
DESCRIPTION:EDIS brings its community back together on 26 January 2027 at the Francis Crick Institute in London\, for a day on advancing equality\, diversity and inclusion across science and health. You can join in person or online. \nIt has been some time since EDIS members and partners met as a whole. The symposium mixes a keynote\, talks and panel discussions with workshops and networking\, built around EDIS’s three strategic themes: \n\nInclusive Leadership: defining and practising inclusive leadership across the sector\, rewarding it\, and seeing it change cultures and career paths.\nInclusive Research: a shared definition of inclusive research\, and equipping members to build its principles into their work.\nEmbedding EDI: making EDI an integral part of science and health research\, sustained through policy work and collective action.\n\nIt is aimed at EDI practitioners\, researchers\, research support and professional services staff\, and people working in HR and culture. Your organisation does not need to be an EDIS member to attend. If you are working on making dementia research more inclusive or building accessible research environments\, it is a good chance to hear what is working elsewhere and swap practical ideas. \nThe day has been designed with access in mind\, including BSL interpretation for all speaker-led sessions\, a prayer room and a separate quiet space\, a fully wheelchair-accessible venue\, gender-neutral toilets\, and a sensory map of the venue sent in advance. \nEDIS is a member organisation for Equality\, Diversity and Inclusion in Science and Health. Since February 2026 it has been hosted by the British Science Association\, in collaboration with the Francis Crick Institute\, and supported by Wellcome. \nBooking\nRegister through Eventbrite. Registration for in-person places closes on 11 December 2026\, and online registration closes on 25 January 2027. The venue holds up to 400 people. \n\nClick Here
