SUMMARY:MSD Protein Biomarker Roadshow London
DESCRIPTION:A one-day scientific symposium from Meso Scale Discovery (MSD) at UCL\, on protein biomarker research and ultra-sensitive assay technology. \nFrom Discovery to Focused Biomarker Panels brings together researchers from academia\, biotech and pharma to explore the latest advances in protein biomarker research\, from high-plex discovery through to focused panels. Speakers from MSD\, ProteinXI\, UCL\, Imperial College London and the Institute of Cancer Research will share how they use the technology in their own work\, and there is time over coffee and lunch to swap ideas and experiences. \nIt will be of particular interest if you are developing bespoke assays or using kit-based assays to detect biomarkers on the MSD platform. UCL researchers have access to MSD plate readers at the UK DRI facilities at the Institute of Neurology and the Cruciform Building\, so this is a good chance to find out more about the technology and what it can do. For background on where fluid biomarkers fit in dementia research\, see our pieces on dementia biomarkers and how we use biomarkers in dementia trials. \nProgramme\n\n9.00am Registration and coffee\n9.30am An Introduction to MSD: Exploring Immunoassay Technology across the Translational Continuum – Pankaj Oberoi\, Meso Scale Discovery\n9.50am The Molecular Pathogenesis of Huntington’s Disease and Development of Huntington Bioassays for Preclinical Therapeutic Applications – Dr Christian Landles\, UCL\n10.20am Measure What Others Miss: Ultrasensitive Protein Detection with S-PLEX – Joao Nunes\, Meso Scale Discovery\n10.50am Pharmacodynamic Biomarker Monitoring of Novel Cancer Therapeutics in Phase I Clinical Trials Using Meso-Scale Assays – Dr Karen Swales\, Institute of Cancer Research\n11.20am Coffee break\n11.50am An Introduction to ProteinXI: High Multiplex Assays with Absolute Quantitation at Scale – Dr Rudy van Eijsden\, ProteinXI\n12.20pm Using Multiplex Immunoassays to Understand Mucosal Immune Responses and Antibodies – Dr Ryan Thwaites\, Imperial College London\n12.50pm Building Robust Assays: Best Practices for Reliable\, Reproducible Results – John Butler\, Meso Scale Discovery\n1.10pm Networking lunch\n2.00pm Close\n\nRegistration\nThe symposium takes place in the Kennedy Lecture Theatre at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health\, 30 Guilford Street\, London WC1N 1EH\, on Thursday 12 November from 9am to 2pm. It is free to attend\, but please register in advance so the organisers can plan catering. \n\nClick Here
