How is your work funded?

The generosity of the public – through donations!

Tell us a little about yourself:

I started volunteering at the Alzheimer’s Society after my dad’s diagnosis of early onset Alzheimer’s in 2014. Aged just 57 it was a lot for us to take in. I initially joined the Society as a way to find out more about dementia and volunteered at memory café’s and singing for the brain sessions. I later joined the Research Network – I am a researcher myself (albeit in a different field) and felt I could contribute to the Network and have been happily involved ever since.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:

I flew a plane before a drove a car. I also used to have a part time job as a registrar and have conducted 90 ceremonies (weddings, renewals of vows, and even a baby naming ceremony).
