At Alzheimer’s Society we fund research across the biomedical and care spaces, from PhDs to project grants. We also support multiple collaborative initiatives, including the Brains for Dementia Research [2] programme, which I help to manage.

I grew up in Devon, I love the countryside and classical music.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
I seem to have a knack for bumping into celebrities, the most recent ones (before lockdown) being Stephen Fry at the Fringe and Emma Thompson in a pub.
Why did you choose to work in dementia?
There are so many aspects of working to support dementia research which are appealing to me. It’s a massive issue affecting so many people which I feel is under-recognised, and there are social and emotional consequences for those affected and their families, together with huge economic and logistical repercussions for the health and social care services. I would love to make even a small difference to the lives of people affected by dementia.
