I’m a brain surgeon, ask me anything
March 19 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to operate on the human brain? To celebrate Brain Awareness Week 2026, neurosurgeon Professor Hani Marcus will be answering questions on everything brain-related, from cutting-edge research on AI, to what it’s really like in the operating room. This will be in the form of a live discussion on Reddit under the subreddit, r/iAMA (ask me anything).
Whether you’re a student, researcher, healthcare professional, budding neurosurgeon, or simply curious about the human brain, everyone is welcome to take part, ask questions and get involved. Hani will answer as many questions as possible in the allocated time.
How to Get Involved:
- Log into Reddit between 13:00-15:00 on 19 March
- Visit the subreddit r/iAmA
- Look out for the AMA post titled: “I’m Hani Marcus, a brain surgeon and a Professor of neurosurgery at University College London. This Brain Awareness Week AMA about the brain!”
- Drop your questions in the thread, join the conversation and upvote the best questions.
