As the UK ages, it is vital to invest in prevention for age-related diseases such as dementia. One in eleven people – an estimated 982,000 – in the UK have dementia, and around 7% of these cases are diagnosed before the age of 65. By 2030, it is projected there will be over one million people in the UK living with dementia.
Proactive approaches like APPLE-TREE not only support healthier ageing but also reduce pressure on our health and care systems in the long term.
The launch will showcase the findings of the six-year study led by Queen Mary University and include an expert panel discussion on the importance of dementia prevention in the UK today.
