BrainLat seeks a postdoctoral or early career researcher to analyse brain health, ageing and dementia data across epidemiology, omics, biomarkers and imaging.


The Latin American Brain Health Institute (BrainLat) at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez is opening a call for a postdoctoral or early-career researcher to join its interdisciplinary research team.

The position is aimed at candidates interested in contributing to research at the intersection of brain health, data science, epidemiology, omics, and biomarkers. The selected researcher will support ongoing projects focused on understanding the biological, social, and environmental factors that shape brain health and brain aging in Latin America.

Position overview

The selected candidate will contribute to the analysis of large-scale datasets related to brain health, including epidemiological, omics, biomarker, clinical, neuroimaging, or population-based data.

The role involves participation in scientific publications, data analysis workflows, collaborative research projects, and the development of new research questions within BrainLat’s lines of work.

Candidate profile

BrainLat is seeking applicants with the following profile:

  • Postdoctoral or early-career researcher (up to 10 years after PhD completion) in neuroscience, data science, epidemiology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, biomedical sciences, or related fields.
  • At least two publications in related areas, preferably as first author.
  • Expertise in epidemiological data, omics, and/or biomarkers, neuroscience, bioinformatics applied to brain health, aging and/or dementia research areas.
  • Experience with programming and analytical tools such as Python, R, and MATLAB.
  • Interest in interdisciplinary research on brain health, aging, dementia, biomarkers, and population studies.
  • Ability to work in collaborative scientific environments and contribute to international research projects.
