OMRF’s Srinivasan Lab seeks a postdoc to uncover how lymphatic vessels and heart valves develop and fail, biology that sits close to current debates on brain waste clearance.
The Srinivasan Laboratory at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scientist to investigate how lymphatic vessels and cardiovascular valves develop, and what goes wrong in disease.
The lab’s work spans lymphoedema, aortic stenosis, mitral valve prolapse, venous valve dysfunction, thrombosis and inflammatory disorders. Projects combine genetically engineered mouse models, advanced imaging, molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, and bioinformatics.
You’ll have room to develop your own research directions, pick up new experimental and computational skills, present at scientific meetings and publish in high-impact journals.
Who they’re looking for
Backgrounds in cell, developmental, vascular or molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology or bioinformatics are all relevant. Experience with mouse models, imaging, genomics or computational analysis would help, but it isn’t required.
Essential
- A PhD in a biological science, an MD or equivalent (or due to be awarded soon)
- Familiarity with standard laboratory techniques
- Strong motivation to publish
- Detail-oriented and organised, able to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to communicate clearly and write up summaries of results
- Professional when working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures
Desirable
- A track record of peer-reviewed publications
- Histology experience
- Experience with mouse models of disease
- Familiarity with vascular biology or immunology

Salary and benefits
Salary is dependent on experience. This is a full-time role, typically Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, a minimum 8% employer retirement contribution, annual and sick leave, paid holidays, an onsite café, a free onsite gym and free parking. Relocation support is available for candidates based more than 50 miles from Oklahoma City.
