September 10

The 5th Harvard European Alumni Training Network (HEAT-Net) meeting will be in Edinburgh focusing on frontiers in neurodegeneration.
The Frontiers in Research on Neurodegenerative Disorders conference is the 5th HEAT-Net meeting and the first time the meeting will be held in the UK. The meeting will focus on advances in research into Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, and ALS.
We will have talks from leaders in the field and early career researchers. Poster sessions with catered lunches will facilitate discussions between early career and established researchers. The meeting is free to attend. See preliminary programme below, including confirmed speakers John Hardy (University College London), Maria Grazia Spillantini (Cambridge), Lars Lannfelt (Uppsala University), Brad Hyman, Brian Bacskai, (Harvard Medical School) and Pam McLean (Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville).
Topics include genetics, molecular mechanisms of disease, biomarkers, and therapeutics. Join us for exciting scientific talks, posters, discussions, and to enjoy the beautiful city of Edinburgh finishing with a celebratory conference Ceilidh.
