Prevention Research 2026
March 4 - March 5

Population Health Improvement UK, UKPRP Prevention Research Network and the National Institute for Health and Care Research invite you to the second Prevention Research Conference. Join us at Vox in Birmingham, 4-5 March 2026 to explore the latest research and collaborative strategies for preventing non-communicable diseases and reducing health inequalities across the UK.
This event is open to the prevention research community, whether you are conducting research into the primary prevention of non-communicable diseases, developing interventions to reduce health inequalities and illness, or using this research to improve policy or service delivery.
The partnership of PHI UK, UKPRP PRN and NIHR brings together three of the UK’s leading health research networks and funders, enabling Prevention Research 2026 to convene wide-ranging perspectives on the future of research and action for better prevention, population health and equity.
Following the success of the first Prevention Research Conference in 2023, this event will showcase non-communicable disease prevention research from:
- UKPRP-funded consortia and networks
- the four PHI UK research consortia
- across NIHR
- the wider UK research and practice community
Opportunities for discussion will include:
- Emerging research practice including collaborations between research, public and policy stakeholders
- Maximising impact and taking systems approaches
- Creating meaningful public involvement and engagement
The conference is funded by PHI UK and the UKPRP.
