The FENS-Kavli Network of Excellence FKNE Mentoring Prize 2026 – Call for Nominations is open!
Do you know a neuroscientist who has made an exceptional contribution to mentoring and supporting the next generation of researchers? The FENS-Kavli Network of Excellence FKNE invites nominations for the FKNE Mentoring Prize 2026.
Mentoring is essential for building strong, inclusive neuroscience communities, yet it is often undervalued. This prize recognises outstanding leadership in mentoring and sustained commitment to supporting neuroscientists across career stages.
The prize celebrates individuals who have demonstrated:
- Strong mentoring across different career stages (students, postdocs, PIs, technicians)
- Meaningful support during personal or professional challenges
- Positive career outcomes for trainees (inside and outside academia)
- Mentoring beyond direct supervision (e.g. grant and manuscript feedback, career advice)
Please submit your nomination through the following link: https://fenskavlinetwork.org/prizes/fkne-mentoring-prize/
🗓️ Application deadline: 15 February 2026
The Mentoring Prize is funded by the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies – FENS Committee for Higher Education and Training (CHET).
