This livestream is part of the Dementia Researcher weekly Showcase series. Each week we host a 45 minute online session bringing researchers together to share their work, methods, and ideas.
In this session, Millennium Iyobuchiebomie will present her research exploring the use of figurative language assessment as a novel approach to detecting mild cognitive impairment. Her work investigates whether difficulties in understanding non literal language can act as an early indicator of cognitive change.
Millennium is a PhD researcher at Sheffield Hallam University with a background in social science and psychology. Her research focuses on language, cognition, and early detection of neurodegenerative conditions, with the aim of supporting earlier intervention and improved quality of life.
Attendees can expect a research focused session with time for questions and discussion.
