Interventions and Prevention for MLTC
October 1 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

The Interventions and Prevention workstream’s third Community of Practice webinar takes place on Thursday 1 October, 1300–1400, via Microsoft Teams.
This webinar will discuss “Interventions and prevention for MLTC: making sense of a complex landscape”. Professor Simon Fraser (University of Southampton) will present the workstream’s recent paper on interventions to prevent and treat multiple long-term conditions and their consequences across the life course: concepts and definitions, and lead an expert discussion panel.
As a public health doctor building on his past experience as a GP, Professor Simon Fraser’s research aims to understand and address the determinants, burden, inequalities and adverse outcomes associated with chronic disease. He has a particular interest in kidney disease and in multiple long-term conditions (multimorbidity).
Simon qualified in medicine from Southampton in 1992. After ten years as a full time Principal in General Practice in Southampton, he joined the Wessex Public Health training programme while continuing as a part time GP. He completed his doctoral degree in 2014 on the epidemiology of chronic kidney disease, with a particular interest in inequalities and health literacy.
