The Dementia Hub @GIAM aims to provide information about dementia to local people, organisations, practitioners and businesses in the area.
The Geller of Institute of Ageing and Memory (GIAM) invites you to attend the second Dementia Hub@GIAM event at the University of West London (UWL).
The two speakers are as follows:

Using smell in dementia care. Does it work and what’s the evidence?
There is growing interest in using smell-based activities in dementia care. Although these approaches are becoming more popular in practice, there is still limited research showing how effective they are. In this presentation, Federica will explore how well smell-based interventions work for people living with dementia
Frank Arrojo, Former carer for his late mum
Member of GIAM’s Lived Experience Advisory Panel, and Organiser of Sudbury & Wembley Dementia Carers Support Groups
Caring for my mum with dementia: Practical tips and ideas
Frank will give an insight into what it was like supporting his mum with vascular dementia to live at home, and some of the lessons he learnt along the way.
There will be an opportunity for questions and discussions. This is a free event and everyone is welcome.
