Graphic Scores: Art, Music and Parkinson’s

November 28 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Kings Place Logo

Join an evening of live music and visual art at Kings Place, created with younger people living with Parkinson’s through a collaborative creative project led by researchers at University College London.

Over a series of workshops at UCL and Kings Place, a group of participants aged 18 to 50 have been exploring what it is like to live with young-onset Parkinson’s. They began with drawing and visual art, then worked alongside professional musicians and artists to turn those ideas into a brand new piece of music. This performance brings the finished work to the stage, with the music played alongside the artwork that inspired it.

The research behind the project is looking at whether making music and art together can support mental health and wellbeing, and give people with young-onset Parkinson’s new ways to express and share their experiences. If you are interested in creative approaches like this, you might also enjoy our podcasts on music and dementia and on dementia friendly music and arts.

The project is funded by Arts Council England and has been developed in partnership with Parkinson’s UK and Kings Place.

When and where: Saturday 28 November 2026, 6.30pm (doors 6pm), Hall Two, Kings Place, 90 York Way, London N1 9AG. The performance lasts around an hour, with no interval.

Who can come: Everyone is welcome, including project participants, friends and family, the Parkinson’s community and members of the public.

Tickets: The event is free, but you need to register in advance to secure a ticket and guarantee entry on the day.
