King’s College Hospital seeks a Post CCT Fellow in Functional Neurological Disorder to support specialist care, pathway evaluation and clinician education.
This is a Post CCT Fellowship in Functional Neurological Disorder for neurologists. The remit of the post-holder will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing specialist care for patients with FND, while also supporting the implementation and evaluation of a new care pathway and contributing to education across the regional network.
Main duties of the job
To provide clinical experience in the assessment and management of Functional Neurological Disorder.
To gain experience in service evaluation, quality improvement and action research within a newly commissioned FND pathway.
To gain experience in education and training of clinicians across the South East London FND network
To develop the capability to practice independently in this field, and to contribute to the future growth of FND services nationally.
Provide a clinical service for patients with FND, including new assessments, follow-up, and ward referrals.
Participate in MDT meetings and contribute to collaborative formulation and management planning.
Provide education, support and supervision for clinicians across the FNDExSEL network.
Contribute to service evaluation and pathway development through data collection, analysis and action research.
Undertake optional specialist clinic sessions in another area of neuropsychiatry (e.g. epilepsy, movement disorders, brain injury, autoimmune encephalitis, or cognitive disorders)
Engage in postgraduate teaching and support the wider academic programme.
Contribute to audit, clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
Undertake personal study, with the option to attend elements of the MSc in Clinical Neuropsychiatry at KCL.
Work in line with Trust policies and governance frameworks, maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.
