Senior Research Fellow in Epidemiology and Modelling

The UK-China Health and Social Challenges Ageing Project (UKCHASCAP) is a three year international project to research the present and future burden of dementia, and policy responses, in China and UK. Under direction of Professor Brunner, the post holder will be one of two researchers working on UKCHASCAP at UCL.
The post holder will work closely with Dr Piotr Bandosz (Gdansk Medical School) and with Chinese colleagues, Dr Jing Liao (SYSU) and her team. Other UKCHASCAP Co-Investigators include Professor Eric French (Economics, Cambridge University) responsible for the economic component and Natasha Curry (Deputy Director of Policy, Nuffield Trust), responsible for the policy analysis component.
The primary roles of the post holder will be to develop a Markov model using appropriate epidemiological and statistical methods, and to build appropriate economic and policy scenario models based upon this Markov simulation. The post holder will analyse longitudinal and cross-sectional epidemiological data for input to the simulation model, program the model and write up outputs derived from the simulations.
Funding for this post is available until 14th August 2023 in the first instance.
Relevant PhD degree e.g. epidemiology, biostatistics or related quantitative discipline or equivalent research experience , strong quantitative skills in epidemiology and computer programming, in R, Stata or similar languages are key requirements.
Publications as first or last author in internationally refereed journals on topics mentioned in Job Description and organisation and delivery of teaching and supervision at undergraduate / postgraduate levels.
