Tell us a little about yourself:

I have a PhD in health services research, I’m deputy director of R+D at Surrey and Borders Partnership and a relatively new consultant. I am also Vice Chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Faculty of Old Age Psychiatry. I work in liaison psychiatry, which is the interface between the acute hospital and mental health services so I see people in the acute hospital setting. I am passionate about improving the delivery of mental health services to older people. I am about to start a feasibility study looking at using technology to support people with delirium in their homes funded by the NIHR ARC-KSS.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:

I have two horses and two tattoos. That’s two facts!

Why did you choose to work in dementia?

My father had Lewy Body Dementia and delirium, and had a bad experience in a general hospital. I want to do what I can to improve dementia and delirium care from the point of view of care pathways and improving access to treatments.
