Tell us a little about yourself:

I am a Master of Science in Epidemiology student at the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from the University of Livingstonia in Malawi. My research primarily focuses on understanding the trend of toxicological agents and treatment approaches (epidemiology, toxicology and pharmacology), extending to the study of toxicologic or poison dementias and mental health disorders. I aim to improve engagement, care and treatment outcomes, and contribute to medication development to address the mysteries surrounding dementia and ageing in Malawi, across Africa and around the world.

I am also an ISTAART Ambassador for 2025/2026

Why did you choose to work in dementia:

At some point a human being ought to age. Meanwhile, others get dementia while others do not. Thus, I would like to understand the mysteries surrounding the development of the disease to aid take care of those that took care of us before we came to really understand the life.

What single piece of of advice would you give to an early career researcher?

Choose the 3Cs (Choice Chance Change). Make a Choice to take the Chance to bring Change in the world of dementia, or things will continue to be the same. And remain true to yourself, there will never be another version of you.
