The Power of Peer Support: Stories from Across the DEEP Network

October 19 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Virtual Event
Dementia Community

What difference can peer support make when you are living with dementia? In this one-hour webinar from Dementia Community, people with dementia and Innovations in Dementia share how peer support helps people with dementia to connect, contribute and thrive.

The session looks at why peer support matters, how groups in the DEEP network (the UK Network of Dementia Voices) work, and the benefits members describe, from friendship and confidence to influencing change. You will hear real experiences from group members, practical steps for finding or starting a group, and an introduction to free resources that support people with dementia to get involved.

Presenters: Rachael Litherland and Damian Murphy, Directors of Innovations in Dementia, and Teresa “Dory” Davies, Expert by Experience, with a film contribution from the York Minds and Voices peer support group, part of the UK DEEP network.

For researchers, it is a useful window into how people with dementia organise, support one another and shape change, and good background for anyone planning patient and public involvement in their work.

Registration closes at 23:59 UK time on Sunday 18 October. The Zoom link is emailed to registered attendees on the morning of the webinar, so check your spam and junk folders if it does not arrive.
