Sofie Frandsen from Vesper Bio presents her poster at the AD PD Conference in Copenhagen.

This work explores how inhibiting sortilin with the oral small molecule VES001 increases progranulin levels, a key protein implicated in neurodegenerative diseases including frontotemporal dementia and Parkinson’s disease.

The poster presents Phase 1b and 2a data in GRN mutation carriers, showing increased progranulin levels in plasma and CSF, alongside a favourable safety profile. It also highlights biomarker analyses linked to neuroinflammation, lysosomal function and synaptic health.

These findings support sortilin inhibition as a promising therapeutic strategy targeting underlying disease biology, with potential to modify disease progression.
