UEA seeks a part-time technician to support preclinical research on perimenopause and dementia risk, contributing to lab operations in a collaborative research team.
UEA has some of the most innovative and highly regarded centres for research in the UK. Applications are invited for the post of Technician to assist in the research under the supervision of Dr Matthew Pontifex to work on female dementia vulnerability.
The aim of the project is to determine the extent to which perimenopause influences dementia risk.
Key duties of the role include:
- Day-to-day implementation of preclinical studies
- Day-to-day maintenance and running of laboratory tasks
You will have:
- Laboratory experience
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with ability to deal face-to-face, via telephone and email with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, culture and nationalities
This part-time (0.6 FTE/21.75 hours per week) post is available from 2 June 2025 on a fixed term basis to 31 May 2027.
