Primary Progressive Aphasia awareness day – 4th April 2025

We’re pleased to help spread the word about the official launch of the first-ever Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA) Awareness Day, taking place on 4th April 2025!

This initiative has been developed by people affected by Primary Progressive Aphasia, alongside speech and language therapists Dr Anna Volkmer and Rosemary Townsend. The project is a result of research, collaboration, and co-production, aiming to raise awareness of how speech and language therapy can support individuals living with PPA.

Raising Awareness in the Lead-Up

In the months ahead, the organisers will be sharing content across social media, emails, and other platforms to promote PPA Awareness Day. This will include collaborations with organisations such as:

  • Rare Dementia Support
  • Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy
  • NIHR Dementia Researcher (special podcast coming on the 17th February)
  • Brainy Speech Therapists
  • UCL Giving Voice Society
  • Therapy Box

Expect to see insightful podcasts, moving personal testimonies, and valuable information on how speech and language therapy can benefit those with Primary Progressive Aphasia.

The initiative will culminate in a free webinar on 4th April, open to all. Anyone interested can sign up here:
