Tell us a little about yourself:

In 2015 I started my research career looking into pathways which lead to cell survival and proliferation in cancer cells. Last year, I changed fields to study the same pathways which could potentially be involved in neurodegeneration. I am currently trying to decipher how certain mechanisms of inflammation lead to neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s Disease.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself:

During my spare time, I learn how Yoga can improve symptoms in patients with neurodegeneration.

Why did you choose to work in dementia?

Since my undergraduate years I have been interested in inflammatory mechanisms of pathologies. I was excited to join a lab where I could study the devastating effects of neuroinflammatory signalling in neurodegenerative diseases.
