Improving Equity and Inclusion in Health Research
October 16 @ 9:15 am - 3:00 pm

The Methodologies Workstream of the Multiple Long-Term Conditions (MLTC) Cross-NIHR Collaboration is running a day of online training on improving equity and inclusion in health research, on Friday 16 October 2026 from 0915 to 1500.
The training will consider inequities in the design and conduct of health research, with examples of involving people living with multiple long-term conditions (MLTC). Sessions will examine the inclusion and recruitment of under-served groups, including people who lack capacity to consent and those experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage, alongside intersectionality and the potential for AI to widen existing inequities.
Drawing on methodological expertise, community perspectives and the NIHR INCLUDE framework, the day will give participants the chance to reflect on challenges within their own research and consider practical approaches to improving inclusion and equity in MLTC research.
Register your interest using the form below. Confirmation of your place will be sent in due course.
If research inclusion is on your agenda, you may also want to join Research inclusion as a condition of funding – 2 years on earlier the same week, on Wednesday 14 October.
