Imperial seeks a Research Associate to study therapeutic ultrasound in Alzheimer’s and cognitive decline using mouse models, tissue processing and omics.
Do you have experience with in vivo mouse studies in the context of ageing and/or neurodegeneration? Join our group to work on projects exploring the effects of ultrasound on the brain in health, neurodegenerative disease, and cognitive decline.
What you would be doing
In this role you will be part of a team that is investigating the effects of therapeutic ultrasound on the brain. You will be performing in vivo experiments with focused ultrasound and processing the tissue for omics analysis in mouse models of Alzheimer’s, cognitive decline and in comparison with healthy models. Behavioural in vivo tasks and genotyping may be involve.
What we are looking for
Someone who is enthusiastic about the project, independent, collaborative, a good team player, with excellent organisational skills.
We are looking to hire a friendly, motivated and independent candidate with experience with mouse models of ageing and/or neurodegeneration, behavioural task experience, omics analysis, therapeutic ultrasound in vivo treatment experience is a bonus but not essential, and experience with tissue processing, staining and imaging also ideal. Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience in the ageing/neurodegeneration field.

This role is for a full-time fixed-term contract for 18 months, with the opportunity of an extension.
