Dementia Researcher is heading to Dublin for the 36th Alzheimer Europe Conference (27 to 29 October), and while we’re there we’ll be recording two podcasts to share the highlights. We’re looking for people attending in person to join us as guests. No experience needed, just come along and tell us what you’ve seen and heard.
Not everyone can get to a big conference. Travel budgets are tight, caring commitments get in the way, and plenty of people simply can’t take three days out. These podcasts are for them: a chance to hear from people in the room about the talks worth remembering, the ideas that got people talking, and what it all might mean for dementia research and care.
This year’s theme is Sláinte: Building momentum in dementia through policy, research and partnership. Alzheimer Europe conferences always bring researchers together with clinicians, policymakers, and people living with dementia and their carers, and that mix makes for a good conversation.
What’s involved
You come along, sit down with us and a few other delegates, and talk. We’ll ask what you’ve seen and heard, which sessions stood out, and what you’re taking home with you. There’s also a chance to talk about your own work, so if you’re presenting a poster or a talk, it’s a good way to get it in front of a wider audience.
There’s no script and nothing to prepare. We’ll guide the conversation, and if you’ve never been on a podcast before, that’s fine. Most of our guests hadn’t either.
When we’re recording
Recordings are likely to be late in the day on Wednesday 28 October and on Thursday 29 October. When you sign up, tell us which day works for you, and we’ll be in touch by email to confirm a time and where to find us in the Convention Centre Dublin. We’re looking for three guests for each show, and if you are interested, there could also be an oppertunity to host the recording.
Who can take part
Anyone attending the conference in person, whatever your role or career stage. The form asks for your name, job title, where you work, your email address, a link to your LinkedIn or another profile, and which day you’d like to join us. It takes a couple of minutes.
