CONSOLIDATE: Exchange is a one-day event in Dundee on Thursday 26 November 2026, bringing together people living with dementia, unpaid carers, health and social care professionals, researchers, third-sector organisations, policymakers and technology partners from across Scotland.

CONSOLIDATE is a Scotland-wide network exploring how technology can help people living with dementia stay independent at home. It’s led by Heriot-Watt University, the University of Strathclyde and Age Scotland, with partners including Alzheimer Scotland, Meeting Centres Scotland, Carers Scotland and NHS boards from the Borders to Shetland. It’s funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), in partnership with Alzheimer’s Society.

The network’s listening phase heard from more than 300 people living with dementia and carers, and set five Grand Challenges: independence at home; mobility, travel and getting out; dementia-inclusive technology; social connection and reducing isolation; and sustainable support for carers.

At the Exchange, you’ll be able to:

  • hear what the CONSOLIDATE project has learned so far
  • explore priorities for supporting people living with dementia to remain independent at home
  • help shape future directions for research, policy and innovation

It’s a good fit for anyone working on technology for people living with dementia, home care or carer support, or anyone who wants to work alongside people with lived experience to set research priorities.

The event takes place at the Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa, Dundee. The full agenda will be shared closer to the day. Places are by registration of interest, so complete the form to let the organisers know you’d like to attend.
