Spotlight on van der Schaar Lab – Machine learning & AI Research

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The van der Schaar lab is a world-leading research group led by Mihaela van der Schaar, John Humphrey Plummer Professor of Machine Learning, AI and Medicine at the University of Cambridge.

They develop cutting-edge machine learning & AI theory and methods, with the goal of improving healthcare and medical knowledge. As one of the most impactful and diverse teams in their field, they employ a wide range of ML approaches including deep learning, causal inference, AutoML, time series analysis, ensemble learning, and many more.

With ongoing support from Alzheimer’s Research UK, their lab has been conducting ongoing research into the application of machine learning to Alzheimer’s.

On their webpage you will find an overview of the lab’s key research projects, they hope to demonstrate that machine learning, driven by data, can offer powerful new tools in the fight against Alzheimer’s.
