Tell us a little about yourself:
I am a physician trained in Geriatrics at the University of Sao Paulo (USP) and in Epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. I am the Director of the Biobank for Aging Studies at USP, the largest brain bank in Latin America. I also conducted epidemiological studies in large Brazilian cohort studies investigating risk factors for dementia.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
I love exercising and biking everywhere.
Why did you choose to work in dementia research?
After I finished medical residence, it was clear to me that I need to learn more about dementia. I joined a cognitive and behavirohal fellowship in dementia and gradually became interest in dementia research.
What single piece of advice would you give to an early career researcher?
Be persistent and resilient.
What book are you reading right now? Would you recommend it?
Hidden Potential: The Science of Achieving Greater Things. I would definitely recomment it.

A run in the muddiest, hilliest place possible, followed by a good book and a fancy herbal tea.
