Tell us a little about yourself:
I was born and grew up in Sheffield. I studied Neuroscience at the University of Nottingham for my undergraduate degree, before moving to King’s College London for my Master’s degree in Clinical Neuroscience, and have stayed there ever since. In my spare time, I love to make tapestries and do embroidery – working in computational genomics means I constantly have to be doing something with my hands!
Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
I adore any food that’s pickled
What single piece of advice would you give to an early career researcher?
If you’re suffering from imposter syndrome, allow yourself to acknowledge it. Don’t suffer in silence – it will become more manageable to deal with over time.
What book are you reading right now? Would you recommend it?
Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton. Yes, it’s so funny!
