Tell us a little about yourself:
I’m a clinical psychologist and mental health advocate from Ethiopia, providing therapy to those affected by both clinical and non-clinical mental health problems. I also use social and mass media to help increase awareness of mental health issues and the different types of mental illnesses.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself:
I love Ethiopian coffee ceremony.
Why did you choose to work in dementia research?
My motivation to work in dementia in Ethiopia is driven by the significant challenges faced by dementia patients and their caregivers, the lack of a national dementia plan, and the opportunities to improve care and support through technology, social media and international collaboration.
What single piece of advice would you give to an early career researcher?
Be practical, be impactful and see the change you have made.
