AD/PD 2027 International Conference on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases logoMissed the main abstract deadline for AD/PD™ 2027, or got results in since September that are too good to sit on? Late-breaking abstract submission is now open for the International Conference on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases and related neurological disorders, which takes place in Barcelona from 16 to 20 March 2027. Submissions close on Wednesday 18 November 2026.

AD/PD is one of the big meetings of the year for anyone working on neurodegeneration, covering everything from basic mechanisms and translational work through to early diagnosis, drug development and clinical trials in Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and related disorders. The late-breaking window is there for new, unpublished findings that weren’t ready in time for the main call, which closed in September.

What they’re looking for

Abstracts must report unpublished data that hasn’t been presented anywhere before. Each one has to be allocated to a theme, topic and sub-topic, so have a look at the AD/PD 2027 abstract topics before you start and work out where your work fits. The committee will try to keep it where you put it, but may move it if they think it sits better elsewhere.

The rules worth knowing before you start

  • Abstract text is limited to 280 words, structured under Objectives, Methods, Results and Conclusions. Tables and references count towards the word limit; images (JPG only, up to 500 KB) don’t.
  • The title is limited to 20 words and must be in upper case.
  • The presenting author must be listed as first author, and must register for the conference.
  • You can submit as many abstracts as you like, but each person can present a maximum of five posters and one oral presentation.
  • Abstracts can’t be edited after final submission, so check it properly before you press the button. Drafts that haven’t been finally submitted by the deadline won’t be considered.
  • All correspondence goes to whoever submits the abstract, so use the presenting author’s contact details.
  • Your abstract isn’t submitted until you get a confirmation email. If one doesn’t arrive, contact the organisers.

If you’re early in your career, note that the Junior Faculty Awards don’t apply to late-breaking abstracts, as this year’s winners have already been announced.

The good news: AD/PD has no embargo policy, so you’re free to share and talk about your work in your own networks.

Writing a strong abstract

280 words doesn’t leave much room. Lead with the question and the finding, keep the methods to what a reviewer needs to judge the result, and make the conclusion actually say something. Our guides on how to write a powerful conference abstract and how to nail your conference abstract are worth ten minutes before you start. If English isn’t your first language, the organisers recommend asking a colleague or copy editor to read it over before you submit.
