Tell us a little about yourself:
I’m a registered nurse and district nurse with ten years experience working in the Glasgow City District Nursing service before moving into research full-time in 2021 when I joined ENRICH Scotland. I have also spent five years working in older adult care homes primarily working with people living with dementia. I’m motivated by the priorities of care home staff and residents. I believe in improving access to the benefits and better outcomes that research involvement and evidence-based practice supports.

I’m obsessed with knitting
Why did you choose to work in dementia?
My first experience of working with people living with dementia was as a domestic assistant at 16 years old. That job was a truly transformative experience that changed the direction of my life and I’m so thankful for what it offered me.
What single piece of advise would you give to an early career researcher?
Get people with lived experience involved as early as possible because then you know your research is addressing a priority in a meaningful way.
What book are you reading right now? Would you recommend it?
Bat Eater by Kylie Lee Baker. Yes it’s brilliant so far

Spending time with my two wee boys, it’s chaos but in a fun way

To set up a book club with my best friends
