Research Insights is a new public webinar series from Alzheimer Europe focused on current developments and cross-cutting topics in research. The series brings together academic and industry researchers, clinicians, national Alzheimer organisations, policymakers and the wider dementia community to exchange knowledge and raise awareness of research developments across Europe.
The first session focussed on the what, why and how of data sharing in dementia research, looking at practical approaches, platforms and use cases alongside perspectives from lived experience. Data sharing can support better use of existing datasets, strengthen collaboration across disciplines and countries and help accelerate progress in dementia research. At the same time, it raises important questions around data protection, technical barriers and differences in data management practices.
The session included short presentations, a panel discussion and audience Q&A.
