Working on Lewy body dementia? Abstract submission for the 9th International Lewy Body Dementia Conference (ILBDC 2027) opens on 1 November 2026. The conference takes place at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm from 16 to 18 June 2027, and abstracts close on Monday 14 December 2026.
ILBDC is the main international meeting for Lewy body dementia research, running from basic science through to clinical research, care and lived experience. It’s built around exchange across disciplines and career stages, which makes it a good place for early career researchers to present. If you’re within five years of your PhD or MD, there are six Rising Star Awards up for grabs as well.
What they’re looking for
Abstracts can be submitted for a poster and/or an oral presentation, under one of these topics:
- Clinical features and phenotypes

The rules worth knowing before you start
- Abstracts are limited to 250 words, structured under Introduction, Methods, Results and Conclusion.
- Submissions go through the online abstract portal, which is open from 1 November to 14 December 2026.
- If your poster is accepted, you’ll need to display a printed poster in the poster area for the whole meeting and take part in a poster discussion session.
Rising Star Awards
Sponsored by the Lewy Body Dementia Association, six Rising Star Awards will go to early career researchers, across two categories: Clinical and Preclinical. Each category has a Gold (€1,500), Silver (€1,000) and Bronze (€500) award, and every winner also gets free conference registration.
To be eligible, you must be within five years of completing your final degree (PhD or MD) and not hold a tenured position. You apply through the same abstract submission portal.
Early career researchers within 10 years of their PhD can also join the NextGen DLB Career Event, a pre-conference afternoon on Tuesday 15 June with panels, round tables and networking.

250 words goes quickly. Lead with the question and the finding, keep the methods to what a reviewer needs to judge the result, and make the conclusion say something.
